Alabama Star Malachi Moore Under Fire for Meltdown at End of Alabama-Vanderbilt Game

The Alabama Crimson Tide found themselves on the wrong end of the scoreboard against the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday for the first time since 1984.

Led by New Mexico State quarterback transfer Diego Pavia, the Commodores were able to pull off the 40-35 win, which gave the program its first win over a top-five team in its history. While Alabama fans are currently having a meltdown over the loss and are already figuring out how to bring back Nick Saban out of retirement, fans around the country are discussing the behavior of fifth-year safety Malachi Moore.

The Trussville, Alabama native had quite the meltdown towards the end of the game, as he shoved Pavia's facemask into the ground on one play, kicked the ball away from a ref on another and chucked his mouthpiece before another play.

A display of actions that fans are furious about on social media.

"Yooooo Malachi Moore acting like a straight up CHILD right now after losing to Vandy. Grow the f*** up," wrote one fan.

"Kicked the ball in victory formation too. Saban would have kicked him off the team and made him drive home with his parents," added another.

"This ain't no saban coached team," wrote another user.

"Malachi Moore is crashing out on the field right now. Remember that for draft season," commented one fan looking ahead to the NFL draft.

DeBoer was asked about Moore's behavior after the game, and while he didn't excuse it, he also didn't publicly scold him like his predecessor would have.

"Yeah, he was much better in the locker room," said DeBoer per A to Z Sports. "The guy pours everything into what he does. It doesn't make it ok because we have to be first class in everything we do. There are a lot of guys that are really frustrated. The key is that we turn those frustrations into positives moving forward and make sure we don't feel what we are feeling here tonight, and remember that feeling tomorrow, and Tuesday and Wednesday and all season long...

"...So with Malachi, I'm 100% confident he will do that. The frustration out there comes from the work that he puts in. There were a couple of guys that were critical from day one, from the day I got here, that put their foot down and believed in this place and he was certainly one of them. We are going to continue to believe in him. He leaves it all out on the football field not only every game but every day. He's very vocal and we need him to continue to be that way."

While Alabama fans are still learning how DeBoer runs the program, it's clear they would have liked to see him be a bit more stern regarding Moore when speaking to the media.
