    One dead in hit-and-run crash in Hayward

    ( KRON ) — One person was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Hayward Sunday morning, California Highway Patrol confirmed to KRON4.

    The crash happened on westbound Highway 84 just east of South Paseo Parkway at about 5:41 a.m. CHP said an unhoused person was fatally struck.

    A gray Dodge Charger fled the scene of the crash. Officers found its license plate at the scene and went to the home where the car is registered.

    CHP has not announced an arrest.

    CHP believes there was just one person in the Dodge at the time of the crash.
