CM Punk Makes Heartwarming Dedication Following Bad Blood Match

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre culminated their months-long rivalry at this weekend’s WWE Bad Blood event kicking off the show with a brutal Hell in a Cell match. Punk emerged victorious, but both competitors used weapons in what became a bloody affair in Atlanta.

Following the match, Punk made a heartfelt dedication via his Instagram Stories sharing a picture of himself with Chad Gilbert, guitarist for New Found Glory. Gilbert is currently undergoing cancer treatment. “This is what a real warrior looks like,” Punk wrote. “Last night was for you.”

Punk has long been a punk rock fan having cited his love for bands like The Ramones, H20, Bouncing Souls, The Clash, Misfits, Operation Ivy, Rancid and of course, New Found Glory.

Recently Punk also explained why he uses a re-recorded version of the Living Colour hit “Cult Of Personality” as his entrance music. Essentially it was a way for the band to benefit directly from the song’s use whereas money for the classic version would have went to the band’s previous record label.
