The schyulkill expressway is one of the worst main highways in a city EVER built! It’s an embarrassment. My parents were around when it was built and they said much of the money that was budgeted for it was stolen by the politicians in the city at that time. It needs to be no less than 5 lanes on both sides, it needs more length on the on / off ramps and what’s with going from 4 lanes to 3 lanes ? Always a backup by Girard Ave. you have lanes coming on and off the highway on the left side in several spots. What major highway does that?! So unless you’re doing a major revamp, this highway will always be trash.
