    CLEAN SWEEPS: Bear Lake High School volleyball team continues dominance with wins against American Falls and Snake River

    On Thursday, the Bear Lake volleyball team made a powerful statement as they traveled to American Falls and dominated the match from start to finish.

    The Bears swept the competition in straight sets, winning 25-10, 25-9 and 25-11.

    Brynlee Birch led the charge for the Bears with an impressive performance, tallying 12 kills and 9 digs. Kortlyn Skinner matched her intensity, also contributing 12 kills, while Avery Hunter added 11 kills to the mix.

    Bear Lake's Saydee Shaul anchored the defense with 3 aces and 14 digs, helping the team maintain their momentum throughout the match.

    Returning home, the Bears faced off against Snake River on Saturday in another impressive display of teamwork and skill.

    In front of an enthusiastic home crowd, including a large 6th Man presence, Bear Lake once again swept the match with scores of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-10.

    Skinner delivered a standout performance with 16 kills and 8 digs, while Emmie Sharp made her mark with 3 aces and 7 digs. Brynlee continued her solid play, adding 7 kills and 14 digs, and Saydee once again impressed defensively with 14 digs. Avery Hunter contributed 8 kills and 2 blocks, rounding out a strong team effort for the Bears.

    Bear Lake head coach Stephanie Birch expressed praise for the team, stating, “I’m really proud of how consistent the girls were this week. They are such a fun group where they each do their part to contribute to the team goal. They are a team in every sense of the word.”

    With these victories, the Bears improved their overall record to an impressive 21-3, maintaining a perfect conference record of 4-0. The team now looks ahead to upcoming challenges, including a rematch against Snake River on Oct. 10 and a home game against Marsh Valley on Oct. 12.
