During the discussion, Jim Jackson mentioned the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors, prompting Sir Charles to interrupt abruptly. Barkley asserted that both teams are overrated, arguing they’re only considered contenders due to extensive media coverage.

"...Every day they're talking about the Warriors and the Lakers. Before one of the games, I said, 'Hey guys, let me start the show.' I said, 'Ernie, I cleared it with you. I got something to say - Please stop talking about the Warriors and Lakers. The Warriors and the Lakers both stink. First of all, are they in the playoff hunt? No, they're not in the playoff hunt, they in some stuff Adam Silver made up called play-in."

This wasn't the first time Barkley shared his doubts about the Lakers. Barkley's main criticism last year was that he didn’t believe the Lakers could win the title unless Anthony Davis was playing at an MVP Level. He was right. This year he seems even more doubtful. Clearly, Sir Charles has grown tired of the hype surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors.
