One of the greatest performers in WCW history has officially ended his relationship with AEW, and after attending Bad Blood on Saturday inked a WWE Legends contract.

On Saturday night, WWE returned to Peacock with an all-new premium live event, Bad Blood. The card in Atlanta, Georgia featured some major matches up and a pair of impactful returns. CM Punk and Drew McIntyre ended their bitter feud inside Hell in a Cell. And The Rock made his long-awaited return by sending a veiled message to Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.

Along with the night of festivities, WWE continued what has been a new tradition at PLEs by bringing wrestling legends from the area in to attend the event. They take part in fan activities before the show and get to mingle with current talent backstage. Multi-time WCW world champ Diamond Dallas Page was among the contingent of greats. And it seems this specific experience had a major impact on him.

Diamond Dallas Page reveals signing WWE Legends contract after Bad Blood

“Knowing my HOF career was made in WCW, regardless of how many close friends I had there at WWE, I never felt totally welcomed,” Page wrote in a post on social media after attending WWE Bad Blood. “Last night was different. When I got home tonight, I signed my Legends deal and sent it in.

“It was very laid-back and fun to be around, just hanging out, & having some laughs. The entire WWE crew did a hell of a job. The legends weren’t just seen as guys and girls who used to be wrestlers. Last night we were seen as TRUE legends…superstars from the past who paved the way,” he added.

“Treated with the ultimate respect & kindness from everyone, which I believe is all we’re really looking for.”

Under the leadership of Paul “ Triple H ” Levesque, WWE has been far more welcoming to wrestling greats of the past. It seems to be a part of an overall strategy to embrace the history of the business and connect current storylines to iconic moments from previous eras.

DDP was one of the legends of the industry that was willing to play an on-air role in the early years of AEW . However, following Cody Rhodes’ departure he has more frequently attended WWE events to root for his friend. Now that he has signed a Legends contract after Bad Blood, it officially ends any remaining ties he had to AEW.
