Broncos Coach Sean Payton Reacts to Heated Sideline Spat With Bo Nix

The Denver Broncos find themselves with a 3-2 record after routing the Las Vegas Raiders, 34-18, in Week 5. Vegas had no answers for Denver as the Broncos' offense and defense played efficiently throughout.

Rookie quarterback Bo Nix had his best performance to date, finishing with 206 yards through the air and three total touchdowns. But Denver's defense looked unstoppable as they forced three interceptions, with cornerback Patrick Surtain running one back for a pick-6.

However, there was a moment in the game that caught the eye of NFL fans. The Broncos' 24-year-old quarterback was seen getting into a heated exchange with head coach Sean Payton late in the third quarter.

During the postgame press conference, Payton fielded questions about the sideline spat with his rookie quarterback. The veteran coach claimed it's nothing to be concerned about. But Payton did admit that Nix has "a little bit of Ferris Bueller in this player." Listen to his explanation below.

Tiffs between coaches and players happen from time to time. Based on Payton's comments it truly doesn't appear there's any turmoil between himself and Nix.

Overall, morale is likely high after a dominant win over the Raiders, especially considering the Broncos are now firmly in second place of the AFC West.

The Broncos will take on another divisional rival in the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6. If Denver can earn its fourth win in a row, the organization will create an even bigger gap between themselves and the bottom of the division.

It'll be interesting to see how this team develops as the season unfolds. With Nix showcasing some promise in recent weeks, the Broncos could go on a run and go on a potential playoff push late in the season.

The rookie quarterback might be getting into a groove after beating the Raiders. Through five games, Nix has recorded 866 passing yards, six total touchdowns, four interceptions and a 65.2 completion percentage.
