Chris Simms rips into Jets’ offense

NBC analyst Chris Simms is disappointed with the New York Jets’ offense and thinks he knows what is wrong with the team.

The Jets lost 23-17 to the Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England on Sunday. Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers went 29/54 for 244 yards, 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in the game.

During “Football Night in America” ahead of “Sunday Night Football” on NBC, Simms broke down what is going on with the Jets.

“The Jets don’t motion, because Aaron Rodgers doesn’t like that. They don’t shift, so there’s issues there as well. They lack a little creativity. They’re predictable on offense. They threw the ball 54 times today and barely threw for over 200 yards,” Simms said.

Simms then pointed out how the Vikings were able to intercept Rodgers three times. The analyst pointed out that the Vikings knew Rodgers liked going to short slant routes, which led to the first interception. Then Rodgers made a few bad throws and bad decisions on the other plays.

Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett defended Rodgers and said the veteran knows what he is doing, and he pointed to the team throwing too many passes as the problem.

But is it as simple as what Simms said — Rodgers’ dislike of motions and shifts makes the team predictable? Rodgers certainly has seemed frustrated with his coaches at times .
