What’s better than Sunday Night Football ?

You guessed it — Celine Dion and Sunday Night Football .

So when the pop legend narrated the opening to the Dallas Cowboys – Pittsburgh Steelers game, it was absolute poetry.

“I think my favorite thing about this game is its power to connect who we are,” Dion said as her hit “It’s All Coming Back to Me Back to Me Now” played in the background. “To who you were. To prove that our most powerful memories, our most enduring loves can stay with us forever.”

“It all just comes back,” she adds.

A montage of memories of the two teams playing then plays. It’s an old rivalry that has been around for over six decades. Beginning when they faced one another in the Cotton Bowl in 1960. That was the first game in Cowboys history and was 10 years before the NFL-AFL merger, which resulted in the Steelers going to the AFC.

Fast forward many years and after being placed in opposing conferences, exposure lessened. Unless, of course, they both made it to the biggest game of the year: The Super Bowl.

Both teams at one time or another were the prominent teams so imagine these two sharing one field — something they have done three times in the Super Bowl.

Mayhem … with a mix of romance, of course.

Dion talked about love. Not in the way she sings about it, but how it pertains to these matchups.

She tried to compare some of the lyrics mentioning touching and compare that to tackling. I don’t know, but it somehow worked. She’s an icon so whatever she says goes.

If it’s one thing we can all agree on. Both love and sports — well, they will break your heart. No one can argue with you about that.

“The Cowboys and the Steelers, a timeless classic on Sunday night,” Dion said.

She then gets a Gatorade bath.

    Like I said. Icon.
