Jax Taylor Amends Divorce Papers After Filing Errors

Jax Taylor has filed updated divorce papers against Brittany Cartwright, this time with the support of a lawyer. With attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan’s assistance, Taylor submitted an amended dissolution of marriage request in a Los Angeles court on October 3. This followed his initial filing, which contained mistakes that required professional correction.

In Taylor’s first documents, he mistakenly indicated that he and Cartwright were never legally married. The revised petition has since corrected this error. Cartwright responded publicly to the confusion, asserting on social media that they were, in fact, legally married. The correction was further confirmed by Lance Bass, who officiated their 2019 wedding ceremony.

Additionally, Taylor's amended filing now requests joint legal custody of their 3-year-old son, Cruz, with visitation rights for both parents. He had initially asked for Cartwright to have sole custody. He also changed his stance on spousal support, now asking it to be waived for both parties.

The couple’s split has been marked by ongoing disagreements. While Cartwright filed for divorce in August, Taylor initially stated a different separation date. Now, both agree the date of separation was January 24. Despite these legal battles, Cartwright and Taylor emphasize that their priority remains co-parenting their son.
