Celine Dion engaged in an American football tradition as she introduced the much-awaited game against the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night.

Even though football fans had to face a game delay, they were in for a treat. Before the Cowboys vs. Steelers competition began, the My Heart Will Go On singer narrated the specialness of the game and the two teams' rivalry. Amid her opening statement, Celine referenced the iconic custom of a big jug of the athletic drink Gatorade being dumped on the head coach of the winning team.

According to EssentiallySports, “the Gatorade shower is more than just a prank or a joke. It's a symbol of victory, teamwork, and fun.”

Celine embraced the tradition as she was wrapping up her introductory speech, the five-time Grammy winner was drenched with orange Gatorade. She smiled after he was done, throwing a fist in the air, a universal symbol used to signify victory.

The reason for the clash between the Steelers and the Cowboys being delayed was because of inclement weather. Ahead of the Week 5 meeting between the two iconic franchises, Steelers and Cowboys players were sent indoors while fans were advised to find cover. The game was supposed to kick off at 8:25 p.m. Eastern, but storms arrived that forced the time to be pushed back.

Later it was revealed that the game would begin at 9:45 p.m. Eastern, after the dreadful weather cleared up. Pittsburgh North Shore was plagued with dark clouds for most of the evening, and those in attendance expected to experience a heavy downpour close to kick-off. However, once lightning emerged and was situated within proximity of Acrisure Stadium, both teams had to leave the field.

"We are currently in a weather delay until further notice. Fans in the stadium can remain in the seating bowl. We will provide further updates when available,” Acrisure Stadium said in a statement. The Mirror reported that the National Weather Service released an alert for severe weather until 8 p.m. in Pittsburgh, warning that there would be 60mph wind gusts and small hail. However, fans were told to take cover and remain seated.

Although the delay was supposed to be about 30 minutes, it was extended to at least an hour because of lightning. The storms were expected to continue in the area until roughly 9 p.m. Eastern, which is when officials were then able to provide an update on the game.
