Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks, recently shared her thoughts on Shane McMahon possibly joining AEW. Reports emerged a few months ago about a secret meeting between Tony Khan and McMahon to discuss potential opportunities.

Rumors of Shane McMahon joining AEW intensified last week when The Young Bucks posted a photo with him at an airport. Adding to the buzz, McMahon had an encounter with Mone at LaGuardia Airport in New York following AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door in June.

Mone described how she met McMahon at the airport on the day she became a double champion. Their surprise encounter led to a brief conversation, after which McMahon gave her his contact information. This meeting has fueled speculation. However, amidst these rumors, Mone shared her thoughts on McMahon potentially joining AEW.

Mercedes Mone on Shane McMahon in AEW: “I’m here for it”

AEW TBS and NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone recently addressed the speculation surrounding Shane McMahon potentially joining AEW in her latest newsletter. Expressing her admiration for McMahon’s passion for wrestling, she noted that he seems to have “unfinished business” in the industry. Mone also hinted at the possibility of him joining AEW, emphasizing that his addition would be a positive one for the roster.

The newsletter stated, “Seeing Shane’s incredible heart and passion for wrestling makes me think he has a lot of unfinished business. It also makes me think is Shane coming to AEW? I’m here for it, and I’m sure our roster is too.”

Mone then talked about McMahon “belongs in the wrestling business” admitting that “if he doesn’t come back to wrestling, it will make me sad for him.” She continued, “I know what it’s like to be removed from what you love and how sad it made me. I imagine he feels the same way.”

The speculation of former WWE Superstar Shane McMahon joining AEW is growing with each passing day. It seems like it’s only a matter of time before he arrives in the promotion. Fans are now speculating that McMahon could make his debut as early as next week during AEW WrestleDream, possibly during the highly anticipated Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson world title matchup.
