Southaven Police Investigating a Shooting on South Cherry Drive

Southaven Police Department encountered multiple subjects with gunshot wounds on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Southaven Police officers were dispatched to the 2900 Block of South Cherry Drive on Sunday concerning a shooting. Once on the scene, the officers encountered a male victim who had sustained two gunshot wounds as a result of the gunfire.

According to a press release from Southaven Police Department, the officers offered assistance to the subject until EMS arrived, at which point the victim was taken to Baptist Desoto Hospital in order to be treated for his injuries.

At the same time officers were on the scene at South Cherry Drive, two individuals arrived at Baptist Desoto Hospital. The two subjects also were suffering from gunshot wounds, and it was ascertained that the incident at South Cherry Drive was related. One of the individuals was taken to Regional One from Baptist Desoto for further treatment.

At this time, no charges have been filed. The investigation is open and ongoing. More information will be released as it is made available.
