Arkansas Razorbacks only did what they've mostly always known against the Tennessee Volunteers

The Arkansas Razorbacks beat the No. 4 ranked Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday, purely off of the defense and just wanting it more than the Vols did. The team in orange came into that game with the expectation that they would just blow the Hogs out. In fact, I think most people had that expectation, including myself.

After watching the Razorbacks fumble a win against Texas A&M, most people came into this game with the lowest of expectations, and, rightfully so, Tennessee is a very good team. Tennessee came into this game having beaten a fairly good Oklahoma Sooners team, too, so the expectations that were there, were fair.

But, Arkansas just did what they've mostly known -- beating the Volunteers and upsetting top teams. Let's throw it back to Texas, when Sam Pittman won over the hearts of every Arkansas fan, with a much different vibe and feeling than what they have now with Pittman. The Hogs beat Texas at home, the fan base stormed the field, and all hope was restored.

That is, until it wasn't. Then there is the Ole Miss game a few years ago. The Hogs have a knack for being beaten by the teams they should beat, like the small schools they pay to play. It has happened far too often, but more so during the Chad Morris era. They also have a knack for beating the teams they're not supposed to beat, like Tennessee.

This is, though, Arkansas' first win over an AP top-five team in Fayetteville since 1999, when they beat Tennessee. The Hogs have now beaten the Volunteers four straight times, and the team in orange just can't seem to beat the Hogs, even when they are by far the superior team on paper.

The coordinators, Travis Williams and Bobby Petrino, just did a hell of a job on Saturday night. They helped Arkansas do what they know how to do -- thrive as the underhog, not the underdog.
