Luke Combs, Eric Church, Billy Strings, and James Taylor to Headline Benefit Concert for Relief Efforts in North Carolina

Earlier this month, Hurricane Helene ripped through the Southeast causing historic devastation across Georgia, Western North Carolina, Northern South Carolina, and other areas. Several stars have stepped forward to donate and help in any way they can. Now, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Billy Strings, and James Taylor are set to perform a benefit concert to raise money for disaster relief in North Carolina.

Combs, Church, Strings, and Taylor will headline Concert for Carolina to raise funds for communities impacted by the hurricane. ESPN personality Marty Smith and Barstool Sports’ Caleb Pressley will host the event which is presented by Explore Asheville and the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority. It will take place Saturday, October 26 at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Tickets for the event go on sale this Thursday (October 10) at 10 am Eastern Time via ConcertForCarolina.com.

Proceeds from the event, including sponsorships will be evenly split between Church’s Chief Cares Foundation and Combs. They’ll disperse the funds to organizations supporting relief efforts across the Carolinas and the Southeast.

Concert for Carolina Headliners Have Roots in the Tar Heel State

Each of the Concert for Carolina headliners has ties to North Carolina. Luke Combs and Eric Church both called the Tar Heel State home. Combs grew up in Asheville and attended Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Even after moving to Nashville, the “Beer Never Broke My Heart” singer still returns to his home state and roots for his alma mater.

Church grew up in Granite Falls, North Carolina, and is also an Appalachian State album. Today, he splits his time between Tennessee and the Tar Heel State. He is also a member of the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame and a recipient of the state’s highest civilian honor, the North Carolina Award.

James Taylor’s family moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina when he was a child. His father was the dean of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Medical School from 1964 to 1971. His home state inspired such songs as “Copperline” and “Carolina in My Mind.”

Billy Strings is the only Concert for Carolina headliner who isn’t from North Carolina. However, the music of the Appalachian region deeply influenced Strings and modern bluegrass music in general. Additionally, Strings has a large fanbase in the state. As a result, he feels a connection to the area.
