    Tonight through Wednesday Night:

Expect mostly dry weather with a few light showers in the east slopes of the Washington and Oregon Cascades, especially from Tuesday through early Wednesday. A cold front will bring a bit of rain to the northwest corner of Kittitas County, but the rest of the Cascade region will see very minimal precipitation. Winds will become breezy due to surface pressure changes, but these will stay below advisory levels. It will feel a bit cooler, but overall, the area will remain dry and breezy without meeting any red flag conditions.

Wednesday night will be chilly, with subfreezing temperatures in some sheltered mountain valleys. However, the Lower Columbia Basin and nearby valleys won’t get that cold, with lows ranging from the mid-30s to the lower 40s. The chances of hitting freezing temperatures here are less than 10%.

    Thursday through Monday:

The longer-term forecast indicates cooler temperatures on Thursday, bringing us closer to seasonal norms, with high temperatures generally staying below 70°F, except in certain lowland areas.

On Friday, a low-pressure system could potentially bring some rain, but most models now suggest it may track further south, affecting California more than the Pacific Northwest. If rain does arrive, it will likely be minimal, so don’t count on a lot of relief for our dry conditions just yet.

As we head into the weekend, temperatures will warm up a bit due to a southwest wind flow, climbing 3-5 degrees above normal. Highs will return to the 70s in many areas, though the chances of hitting 80°F are low. By late Monday or Tuesday, we could see a slight chance of showers, especially around the Cascades, as another trough approaches. Confidence in the extended forecast is moderate to high, with more dry and warm conditions expected overall.

So, in summary: a generally dry, breezy, and warmer-than-average week ahead, with just a slight chance for showers and cooler temperatures later on. Enjoy the fall weather!
