ROCKINGHAM — At the close of Monday’s practice, head coach Brad Denson called up the latest five “players of the week” for the Richmond Senior High School football team.

Four of the five were first-time selections this season. Junior Jayden Hamilton earned it a second time, but in a different capacity.

Richmond won its fourth straight game Friday, defeating Hoke County High School 44-20.

The players of the week are:

Offense: Jayden Hamilton (junior wide receiver)

Defense: Tate Simpson (senior defensive lineman)

Special Teams: Joseph Patterson (senior kickoff)

Practice: Tyrese Collins (junior wide receiver)

Weight Room: Robert Monroe (junior offensive lineman)

Top Guns Strength and Performance Gym, which sponsors the weekly shoutout of the Raider football players, presented each of the players of the week with a t-shirt.

Denson and the Richmond football staff select each week’s players based on performance in their respective area.

The Raiders (5-2, 3-0 SAC), who are one of two teams still unbeaten in the Sandhills Athletic Conference, will welcome Union Pines High School (5-1, 2-0 SAC) Friday at 7:30 p.m. for their annual homecoming game.
