I'm disabled and live on the 3rd floor of the apartment building. My household is just myself and my fiancé, and we're well below the income threshold. We pay electric, and the landlord supplies the oil. Last winter, I received $100 towards the bill. This building leans and the seals around the windows are a joke. This place has more drafts than the military, so any heat is leaking out, and we have to turn the thermostat up just to keep it warm, using more electric than necessary.

You apply early but don’t get any help till after Jan. Last year after tons of paperwork you have to show them I got $110. This is crap since it takes $500. to fill the tank. I’ve been cold for the last 3-4 winters up here in Maine. Illegals get free heat, free electricity, free rent….. I’m a senior on a low fixed income.
