Troy Aikman can't contain chuckle after Joe Buck's suggestive Monday Night Football one-liner

NFL legend and Hall of Famer Troy Aikman could only laugh after his colleague Joe Buck uttered a suggestive one-liner on Monday Night Football.

Buck, the play-by-play announcer for Monday Night Football on ESPN , and his broadcast partner Aikman are currently enjoying their 23rd season in the booth together. The duo has been together since 2002 — which makes Buck and Aikman the longest broadcast partners in NFL history, with the pair becoming the voice of Monday nights after they signed a five-year deal for $155 million back in 2022.

However, even after knowing one another for so long in a professional capacity, they are still able to throw the other off guard with the odd line. The clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans Saints proved to be no different.

In the second quarter, the Chiefs ran a play from a formation with four tight end s on the field: Travis Kelce , Noah Gray, Jared Wiley, and Jody Fortson. Buck saw his opportunity to make a joke and did so to the amusement of Aikman.

“A lot of tight ends,” Buck quipped. “If you like tight end play, this is your game.”

Aikman simply chuckled at the suggestive line by his co-commentator’s antics. Viewers were also amused by the comment, with one user taking to social media to post: "Joe Bucks hilarious."

However, Buck’s comment was fairly astute. The Chiefs offense is missing key personnel with the likes of running back Isiah Pacheco and receiver Rashee Rice set to miss significant time due to long-term injuries.

As a result, Patrick Mahomes was prepared to utilize his tight ends frequently and effectively. Kelce, Gray, and Fortson have collectively caught 12 passes, with the nine-time Pro Bowler leading the pack with nine catches for 70 yards.

Ultimately, the Chiefs overcame a number of offensive injuries to clinch a 26-13 win over the Saints. The win saw the Chiefs move to 5-0, while the Saints slipped to 2-3 as Mahomes completed 28 of 39 passes for 331 yards along with an interception. Given the offensive injuries, Chiefs used JuJu Smith-Schuster to the tune of seven catches and 130 yards.

Derek Carr left the game after taking a shot in the fourth quarter. The Saints will hope their starting quarterback is healthy and available for their next game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a big NFC South clash on Sunday, Oct. 13. Meanwhile, Mahomes’ 5-0 Chiefs are set to enjoy a bye week before taking on the 2-3 San Francisco 49ers in a rematch of Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, Oct. 20.
