It is ridiculous to blame a police chief for the crime! He obtains his instructions from the Mayor! He cannot move without orders from the Mayor…I repeat! The council members and the community need to be held accountable! Several years ago, a forum was conducted in Huffman via the Jefferson County Commission! Where was the Mayor and Chief? Every high official was there except representatives from Birmingham. These Monday morning quarterbacks need to sit down and look at the whole picture. This state lawmaker also needs to stay in her lane! Crime is everywhere and, interestingly, concerns are being voiced when it affects a certain part of town!!! The call for recruitment should have occurred post-COVID quarantine. However, entertainment took priority. The community, the city council, and “everyone” should engage in crime prevention.!!!! The news doesn’t care they will hop on any bandwagon.

We don’t have enough police officers.The Mayor is building businesses and not putting into the police force.So the mayor has no fault ?
