NOTRE DAME, Ind. In a heartfelt announcement on social media, Notre Dame women's basketball guard KK Bransford shared her decision to redshirt for the upcoming 2024-25 season. This choice comes as a necessary step in her ongoing recovery from a persistent lower leg injury that has affected her performance throughout her college career.

Bransford expressed gratitude towards the coaches, medical staff, and dedicated fans who have supported her during her challenging journey. "Over the last couple of years, I have been dealing with a lower leg injury that has hindered my play at Notre Dame," she stated. "I have decided it is in my best interest to redshirt this season to get back to full strength."

Despite her absence from the court, Bransford remains committed to her team's success. "While I will be watching from the bench this year, I know that it is best that I take the time to fully heal so I can reach my full potential and help my team in the long run," she affirmed. "I can't wait to continue to grow as a player and teammate in the program. Even though I won't be on the floor physically, I will be with my teammates every step of the way!"

During her sophomore season, Bransford made a notable impact on the team, participating in 33 of Notre Dame's 35 games. She averaged 6.8 points per game with a shooting percentage of 39.0%, along with 3.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.

As Bransford takes this crucial time to heal, fans and teammates alike look forward to her return, hopeful that this period of rest will set the stage for her to fully unleash her potential in the future.
