FL To Get New Stores & Jobs Of Pizza Chain With "Edge To Edge" Toppings & Specials Like $5 Subs

Sometimes, when I write articles about pizza or submarine sandwiches, some readers comment that the sandwich or pizza in question does not have enough meat or toppings. Some readers will comment that the sub is all bread or the pizza is all crust. Those readers may be interested in knowing that a pizza chain known for its edge-to-edge toppings (including meats) - Donatos - will be opening new Florida locations in several markets.

About Donatos: This chain was founded in Ohio in 1963 with $1300 as seed money and a mere dream. Because the chain is built on the foundation of giving back to the community, its name is derived from the Latin term for “to give a good thing."

The chain is known for its "edge-to-edge" toppings," hand-cut vegetables, and provolone cheese toppings. As one example, pepperoni pizzas have 100 pieces of meat on the pie. The chain also sometimes offers specials like $5 subs.

Many Floridians enjoy this chain - especially those from up north who say that it reminds them of home. A reviewer named Greg has this to say about a Sarasota location:

"I had no idea there was a Donatos in Florida. My wife and I made the 90-minute drive to Sarasota and the pizza did not disappoint! It is exactly like I remember it from back home. It’s a small place in a strip mall plaza but the pizza is all that matters. I’ll definitely be back."

The New Florida Locations: Donatos already has some Florida locations in Naples, Jacksonville Beach, Fruitville, Pier Park, Mandarin, and Pensacola.

It will be getting new locations in Tallahassee, Gainesville, Lake City, and the Destin-Fort Walton Beach metro. The company expects to hire about 300 people to support these new locations.

The author is not affiliated with Donatos or any other restaurant chain.
