Oklahoma Sooners may finally get to use their secret weapon that the rest of the SEC doesn't know about vs. Texas Longhorns

The Oklahoma Sooners are getting to a point where they will do whatever it takes to improve the offense. Going into the bye week, they were coming off of a win, their first SEC win ever. The Auburn Tigers aren't great, but a win is a win. The offense was much better than it has been, so that's a good sign of things to come. However, it still needs to be better.

If the offense isn't better this week against the Texas Longhorns , the Sooners will get blown out. It's that simple, and I think the Sooners' entire fan base knows that too, they just won't say it out loud. The injuries haven't helped, and have only made it worse, but something has to change until those players get healthy.

So far, there has been some good news, news that Michael Hawkins will love regarding some of the injured receivers who could be back soon. But, even with that big what-if, the Sooners are still pulling out all of the stops against the Texas Longhorns. Well, they could be pulling them all out -- no one really knows if they will end up doing it or not.

The Sooners played the Tigers with their top-five wide receivers out of the game. Big games from J.J. Hester and others really helped true freshman Michael Hawkins make plays early and late in the game. Now, they will have another weapon on Saturday, that is, if they finally decide to pull the trigger.

The Oklahoma Sooners have a cornerback on their roster who is very capable of playing wide receiver, too. Jacobe Johnson, a sophomore defensive back on the Sooners roster , has logged well over 1,000 receiving yards during his high school career.

During Brent Venables' coaches show on Monday night, he mentioned that there is a real possibility Johnson could see the field on the opposite side of the ball than his listed position.

At 6'2", 202 pounds, Johnson has a great frame for what the Sooners need. Now, if they do put him out there, don't think he will all of a sudden be a game-breaker and play the entire game. But, he could play a key role, who knows?

He is still a weapon nonetheless. When you have a guy capable of playing both sides of the ball at a D1 level, Power Four conference level at that, he's a secret weapon, because no one knows about him outside of the Sooners, their media members, and their fans.

“If the offense isn't better this week against the Texas Longhorns , the Sooners will get blown out.”Really? Blown out? So our defense, the ONE THING that has kept us competitive in all our games, isn’t going to show up without a solid offense? I get the point. I just think OU getting BLOWN OUT is a bit…..🤔 dumbass’ish.
