Patrick Mahomes' Idea Could 'Interfere' With Brittany Mahomes' Vacation Plans

It is a great time to be a Kansas City sports fan. The Kansas City Chiefs are the two-time defending Super Bowl champions and are still undefeated through five weeks in the 2024 NFL season. And there are the Kansas City Royals, who are making noise in the 2024 MLB playoffs.

Speaking of the Royals, even Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is pumped up over the success Bobby Witt Jr. and company are having. On Monday, while the Chiefs were still playing the New Orleans Saints, the Royals managed to tie their American League Divisional Series against the New York Yankees at 1-1 with a 4-2 victory in the Bronx.

The Royals and the Yankees will play the next two games of their series at Kauffman Stadium, beginning this Wednesday. Mahomes told reporters following the Saints game that he intends to catch Game 3 of the Yankees-Royals series, though he admitted that it could complicate Brittany Mahomes’ vacation plans, per Katie Maher of WIBW.

The 5-0 Chiefs have a bye in Week 6, so that’s a perfect time for the Mahomes to have some rest and recreation. Then again, it’s not always that the Royals go this deep in the playoffs, let alone make the postseason.

Before this year, the last time the Royals saw action in the postseason was in 2015 , when they also won the franchise’s first World Series since 1985.
