Rico Dowdle has been slowly but surely earning a larger role in the Cowboys offense for a while now but Sunday night in Week 5 gave Fantasy football managers the clearest indication yet that Dowdle is the top option in Dallas. Dowdle carried the ball 20 times for 87 yards and also caught two passes for 27 yards and a touchdown in a win over the Steelers . It was Dowdle's second effective game in a row and if you've effectively worked the Fantasy football waiver wire over the last month, you might be considering starting Dowdle in your Week 6 Fantasy football lineups.

If you're playing in the 11% of CBS Sports Fantasy football leagues where Dowdle isn't rostered, you should be quick to put in a Fantasy football waiver wire claim. However, even if Dowdle isn't available, there is plenty of lineup help available in Week 6 on the Fantasy waiver wire. So before making any Week 6 Fantasy football waiver claims, be sure to see what SportsLine Fantasy football expert R.J. White has to say.

White has dominated NFL picks for years, but he got his start in sports media as a Fantasy baseball and football analyst. He finished No. 1 among all experts for his draft rankings the first year FantasyPros tracked MLB expert accuracy on their site. White has continued to excel at season-long and dynasty Fantasy baseball and football formats.

Now, he's revealed his top waiver wire picks from among the widely available Fantasy football free agents entering Week 6. You can see his top Fantasy NFL waiver wire picks and full analysis over at SportsLine .

Top Fantasy football waiver wire picks for Week 6

One player White is advising Fantasy players to target on the Week 6 waiver wire: Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby . A third-round pick out of Auburn last season, Bigsby only touched the ball 51 times as a rookie with Travis Etienne dominating the workload in the Jacksonville backfield last season. However, he's earned a more significant role in 2024 and he's been making the most of his opportunities so far this season.

"Bigbsy has outplayed Travis Etienne in previous games this season but Week 5's performance took it to an extreme, recording 101 yards on 13 carries with two touchdowns. That's going to make him Priority No. 1 on the waiver wire in a majority of leagues this week," White told SportsLine. "Be prepared to hold him after winning on a big bid if he disappoints over the next week or two as he clearly has the potential to be a week winner in the right matchups."

White is also strongly recommending Cowboys wide receiver Jalen Tolbert . A third-round in the 2022 NFL Draft, Tolbert was largely an afterthought as a rookie and then was used as an ancillary piece despite playing in all 17 games last season. However, it appears as if he's been slotted in as the No. 2 receiver in Dallas with Brandin Cooks hitting IR last week with a knee injury.

"In the first Cowboys game since Brandin Cooks went on IR, Tolbert set career highs with seven receptions on 10 targets for 87 yards while scoring a touchdown and outproducing CeeDee Lamb ," White said. "On a high-volume passing attack, he should be very popular on the wire this week as the potential long-term WR2 for the Cowboys considering Cooks' injury and age."
