Fast Food Bandit Faces Felony Charges in Oakland

Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price has filed a dozen felony charges against 21-year-old Xavier Massey, who is accused of committing a series of armed robberies in Oakland during August and September 2024.

Mr. Massey faces five counts of felony second-degree robbery. He is also charged with one felony count for carrying a loaded firearm in public, one felony count for carrying a concealed firearm within a vehicle, and five felony counts for carrying a concealed firearm.

On or about August 31, 2024, Mr. Massey is accused of entering a McDonald's and brandishing a gun toward employees while demanding money.

The allegations also include an incident on September 18, 2024, where he allegedly walked up to a Burger King drive-through window and pointed a gun at an employee while demanding money.

On or about September 22, 2024, Mr. Massey allegedly entered La Raza Market, pointed a gun at the cashier, and demanded money.

"Targeting businesses and their employees who are just trying to earn a living for themselves and their families will not be tolerated in Alameda County," said DA Pamela Price. "Using a gun to commit robberies adds an additional layer of danger to the employer, the workers, and their customers. My office will continue to hold people accountable for committing these crimes in our community."

Mr. Massey is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on October 8, 2024, in Department 115 at the Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse. If convicted of all charges, he faces up to 13 years and 8 months in prison.
