There’s very little in the way of bells and whistles outside of the novelty of having Bakeru on a cute little Switch cartridge. Those who pick it up will also get a double-sided A3 paper poster, though. Like the digital version, the physical version of Bakeru will run you a cool $39.99 when it launches. If that doesn’t get you excited, nothing will, and the results have proven to be reasonably solid. Even if it doesn’t hit the same highs as many of the entries in Konami’s classic Goemon series, it manages to serve up a boisterous love letter to Japan in the process.The more games we can get out of the digital-only doldrums the better. Hopefully Bakeru has been successful enough for Spike Chunsoft to warrant a revisiting, or at least another crack at a Goemon successor.
