OPINION: Bob La Salle is right choice for City Commission in Oregon City

Bob La Salle is a strong leader for Oregon City Commissioner. He currently serves on the Oregon City Planning Commission offering experience and influence on future developments and municipal code. He advocates for affordability, makes wise decisions for responsible development, and promotes infrastructure for local business. As the chair of the Citizen Involvement Committee, he advocated for residents in local government and being a watchdog on city spending. On the Transportation Advisory Committee, he worked with Public Works recommending better road and pedestrian safety. As the chair for Park Place Neighborhood Association, Bob brings practical logic and strength in leadership with local government. He understands what needs to be done to have legal standing with his neighborhood and how to apply municipal code based on development and infrastructure. He listens to his neighborhood and all the neighborhoods while serving to be an effective voice for the community. Bob is thorough, researching issues and concerns, and brings them up with no intimidation or hesitation. I met Bob on the Citizen Involvement Committee and felt like he listened to everyone and brought practical energy to every decision he makes. He deeply concentrates and takes notes on who is talking or presenting to him. You will feel significant and important when he listens to you. He has an interest in serving our community without any agenda or financial gain and he desires to represent everyone no matter what background or position. He is truly bipartisan and is not motivated by a political party or influenced by popularity, he is forthcoming and stands for kindness and by treating everyone equally. He will fight for us on city fees, water utility, and accountability and transparency on the city budget. He will go to bat for you if you give him a chance and fight for you to have a voice in local government.
