As someone who skyrocketed to fame at the age of 13, Billie Eilish knows all too well that whatever she says publicly is pretty much guaranteed to make headlines. But even if this kind of visibility can often be frustrating for the star, as she explained in a new interview with Vogue , she's determined to use her platform to make a difference.

The "Happier Than Ever" singer told the publication that she regrets being as open with the press as she has been in the past, particularly about dating and her sexuality, calling the process of watching her words become tabloid fodder "unnatural."

“I guess I also underestimate that things I say will be blown up into the biggest news of the whole world,” she said.

However, the star said she also understands the responsibility that comes with her fame, particularly with the upcoming election.

“I mean, this is the most important election of our time, maybe,” Eilish said, “and it’s so easy to be like, I don’t want to think about it…I have that same kind of feeling: I’m one person, I can’t make any change. But the truth is, we can all make change. And I have this platform and I’m going to use it.”

When asked about which issues are most important to her, Eilish didn't hesitate to answer.

“Really big fan of human rights. Really big fan of women’s rights and women’s reproductive rights and social justice and gun laws,” she said.

“A lot of my fans are going to be able to vote for the first time," Eilish continued. "So I’m like, Do you like freedom?"

First female president? Would be really amazing," she added. "I would love to feel safe as a woman in my country.”

Eilish officially endorsed Kamala Harris in a joint Instagram video with her brother, Finneas , on Sept. 17.
