ROCKINGHAM — The General Henry William Harrington chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution has once again showcased its unwavering commitment to serving those who have bravely served our country. Through their latest initiative under the DAR Service for Veterans Committee, the chapter collected an impressive 474 composition books, destined for the Fayetteville, North Carolina VA Systems. These books, valued at an estimated $948, will play a crucial role in inpatient behavioral health units and creative arts programs, supporting veterans in their PTSD therapy and other therapeutic activities.

The DAR Service for Veterans Committee is dedicated to acknowledging and recognizing the immense service, sacrifice, and commitment of America’s veterans. By providing these composition books, the General Henry William Harrington chapter offers a tangible expression of gratitude, reinforcing the DAR mission of honoring and supporting those who have dedicated their lives to the preservation of our nation’s freedom.

The composition books will serve as valuable tools for veterans, offering them a means of expression, reflection, and healing. Whether used for journaling, therapeutic exercises, or creative arts projects, these books will provide much-needed support to veterans as they navigate their paths to recovery.

This initiative reflects the broader mission of the DAR, demonstrating the organization’s dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of veterans. The collective efforts of the General Henry William Harrington chapter members highlight the power of community involvement and the profound difference that organized, compassionate action can make.

Through their service project, the chapter not only honors the service of veterans but also contributes to enhancing their quality of life, embodying the enduring spirit of gratitude and support that defines the DAR community.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a women’s service organization whose members can trace their lineage to an individual who contributed to securing American independence during the Revolutionary War. For more than 130 years, the DAR has strived to bring awareness to the honorable sacrifices and enduring legacy of all patriots who fought for America’s freedom. Through the DAR Genealogical Research System (www.dar.org/GRS), the public can access a free database of information amassed by the DAR about these patriots.
