    Candidate: Regina Adkins

Bio: My name is Regina Adkins and I am asking to be re-elected as a Town Commissioner for Jonesville. I retired from Jonesville Elementary School after 30 years as a Teacher Assistant. I have been at Hampton Inn, Jonesville 20 years, currently as Assistant Manager.

Q: What experience(s) have you had that you believe would make you an asset to the town board?

A: I am currently a Town Commissioner, I sit on the ABC Board as the Jonesville representative, Jonesville Parks and Recreation Committee, as well as the Jonesville Tourism and Development board. I love my town, it is my home. Our community is caring and come together to support one another.

Q: What is your vision for the future of Jonesville?

A: My passion for Jonesville is growth. We need affordable housing for our residents and more job opportunities for our youth to remain in Jonesville as adults. Lila Swaim Park is high on my priority list. I want to have more to offer our youth and adults in our park. If re-elected, I will focus on Jonesville and do my very best to make decisions that have positive outcomes on our town. I only want the best for Jonesville and its residents.

    Candidate: Brandon W. McCann

Bio: I’m Brandon McCann, and I’m proud to be running for a seat on the Town Council of Jonesville, NC. My roots run deep in this community, having grown up in nearby State Road and beginning my career in Jonesville as a bellhop at the former Holiday Inn. That early job instilled in me the values of hard work, service, and community, which continue to guide me today. I am blessed with a wonderful family who call Jonesville home—my wife and our 10-year-old daughter. Their support and love inspire me to work toward a better future for Jonesville and future generations. Currently, I serve as the Development Director for The Salvation Army, overseeing critical fundraising efforts across Yadkin, Davie, Forsyth, and Stokes counties. In this role, I support families facing homelessness, food insecurity, and disaster relief, helping to improve the lives of those in need throughout our region. In addition to my nonprofit work, I have extensive experience in community development, having previously worked in tourism and economic development with Surry County and the Caldwell County Chamber of Commerce. My educational background includes a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Winston-Salem State University, an IMBA from Gardner-Webb University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Appalachian State University, focusing on hospitality and tourism. I am also committed to civic engagement and leadership. I’ve served on the Board of Adjustments for Mount Airy, NC, and am actively involved in Rotary, Kiwanis, Freemasons, and the Boy Scouts of America. As an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow, I know the importance of service to others and the power of community.

Q: What experience(s) have you had that you believe would make you an asset to the town board?

A: With a background spanning nonprofit leadership, community development, and strategic communications, I bring diverse experiences that would be an asset to the Jonesville Town Board. As Development Director for The Salvation Army, I oversee critical fundraising and communications efforts across four counties. I build relationships with donors, businesses, and community leaders to support families facing homelessness and food insecurity. My role requires navigating complex challenges and achieving financial targets, skills directly transferrable to municipal governance. My previous work as a Regional Tourism Director for Surry County and Development Director for the Caldwell County Chamber of Commerce involved partnering with local and state officials to implement economic development initiatives through strategic planning and community engagement. I’ve managed large budgets, coordinated regional projects, and launched successful campaigns that boosted local economies and increased community pride. As a physical therapist, I’ve developed strong problem-solving abilities, active listening skills, and a deep sense of empathy. Additionally, my active involvement in civic organizations like Rotary, Kiwanis, and the Boy Scouts of America demonstrates my commitment to service. I have also served on the Board of Adjustments for Mount Airy, NC, which has given me a deeper understanding of zoning and planning issues. These experiences have provided me with a solid understanding of community needs and a collaborative approach to problem-solving, which would serve me well in helping Jonesville grow and thrive. I am confident that my expertise in strategic planning, community relations, and public service would make me an asset to the Jonesville Town Board as we work to ensure our town's bright future.

Q: What is your vision for the future of Jonesville?

A: My vision for Jonesville is a town that thrives through thoughtful growth and enhanced amenities for all its residents. By prioritizing fiscal responsibility, we will ensure our community thrives without imposing unnecessary tax burdens. Imagine a Jonesville with flourishing recreational spaces and greenways, where families and visitors can gather, play, and connect with nature. Through the expansion of Lila Swaim Park and the realization of the Double Bluff Recreation Area Master Plan, we will transform our town into a vibrant hub for all generations, young and old alike. Beautification projects, such as improved sidewalks and enhanced public spaces, will transform the town’s appearance. This deliberate approach to development will make our town even more attractive to new residents, businesses, and tourists, ensuring that we grow with purpose and vision. By strengthening our relationships with county and state officials, we can advocate for Jonesville’s unique needs and secure the grants and funding necessary for continued infrastructure improvement and economic development. Collaboration with local businesses and tourism boards will also stimulate our local economy. At the heart of this vision is communication—a future where transparency and trust between town officials and residents are seamless. We will build an inclusive, engaged community where every voice matters. We will make it easier for residents to stay informed and feel included. Together, we can build a Jonesville that plans for the future, a place where families grow, businesses thrive, and visitors feel welcomed.

    Candidate: Michael Tilley

"When I started this journey, I never knew how my passion for community service would grow. I have spent the last 4 years learning local government process and the needs of Jonesville. Many improvements and projects are currently underway which will improve the daily life of those who call Jonesville home. I want to be re-elected for a second term, as it will allow me to see these projects through to fruition benefiting current and future generations of residents and business owners in Jonesville."

A response from candidate Tracy Wall was not received as of press time.

What I want to know is, when will Jonesville get up to present day and allow residents to have chickens?! At this time of uncertainty our Town will not allow its citizens to provide for themselves.
