Ballet Folklórico to perform at SCC on Wednesday

DOBSON -- As part of Surry Community College’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, the Ballet Folklórico del Museo de Mount Airy will perform at SCC’s Dobson Campus in the Knights Grill Courtyard on Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 1 to 2 p.m., the college announced Monday afternoon.

The Ballet Folklórico del Museo de Mount Airy is a local dancing group that performs traditional Mexican dances while donning traditional Mexican clothing.

This event is sponsored by SCC’s Global Competence Committee and Scholars of Global Distinction with the intention of expanding intercultural awareness while providing a glimpse into the bigger, broader world outside of Surry County.

The performance is free and open to the public.
