Carter County water utilities provided updates on the status of their districts Tuesday morning, highlighting progress and ongoing challenges in the aftermath of recent flooding.

The Carderview Water Utility, located in Butler, reported that its water tank is approximately half full. Officials anticipated that the boil water alert would be lifted by noon on Tuesday, as recent sampling results came back with favorable conditions.

Hampton Water Utility District’s Josh Smith reported that the district continues to operate on a day-to-day basis as it works to recover from the impact of the flooding. However, the district remains under a boil water alert due to the inability to maintain monitoring communication from their station, a requirement before the alert can be lifted.

The following utilities are fully operational with no boil water alerts issued:

    • Elizabethton Water Resources
    • South Elizabethton Utility District
    • North Elizabethton Utility District
    • Siam Utility District
    • First Utility District
    • Fish Springs – Little Milligan

Local officials continue to monitor the situation closely as recovery efforts progress, and residents are encouraged to stay informed through updates from their respective water utilities.
