Kevin Harvick Calls Out NASCAR for Terrible Handling of Talladega Controversy

Kevin Harvick has never been one to shy away from sharing what's on his mind. In his years as a driver, those targets of criticism included his fellow competitors, fans, and the sanctioning body. Today, as a Fox commentator, he's paid to share his thoughts.

During his "Happy Hour" podcast on Monday, the 2014 Cup Series champion did just that and took direct aim at NASCAR and the way officials handled the 28 cars involved in the biggest crash in Talladega history during Sunday's race.

"Well, I have a lot of information, but I don't think I need to go too far because it was a complete s*** show," Harvick started. "Okay, so that's exactly what we were covering there."

After discussing NASCAR's towing policy and how it has been questioned at three incidents in the last four races, including Ryan Blaney at Watkins Glen and Josh Berry at Kansas, Harvick summarized the governing body's actions and offered his assessment.

"And now all the drivers are — they're not putting their window net down," he said. "They're not getting out of their car. They're sitting there doing burnouts and it's not consistent. We're consistently inconsistent. So now we're going to err completely the other way because we have so many cars that are wrecked that we might not be able to have a whole race.

"If that's what you're going to do, you should at least tell the teams before the race what you're going to do and how you're going to err to the complete other side of this because of what you did the weeks before," Harvick said. "So terrible, terrible situation. Handled terribly by NASCAR as well."

Happy always telling it like it is. Except now he doesn't have to look over his shoulder and worry about his team receiving a penalty for his comments.
