Another Treat Made with Coffee, your Guests Will Love.

Angel food cake is a light, airy dessert made primarily from egg whites, sugar, and flour. It's known for its delicate texture and mild sweetness, making it a perfect base for fresh fruit toppings or whipped cream. However, adding coffee, brings it up to the next level! You have to try it to believe it!

Again, as you propably guessed, I'm using a boxed mix for this wonderful coffee angel food cake. Just follow the directions on the box.

Overall, I enjoy the spongy light texture. Make the mix according to the package directions. Substitute coffee for the water. I make it in a tube pan, approximately 10 inches across. The tube pan helps the cake to rise and bake evenly. Do NOT grease the pan. Follow the directions on the box for baking.

THIS ALONE YOU WILL ENJOY, BUT SERVE AS A FANCY DESSERT FOR GUESTS, BY ADDING A SURPRISE.

Add coffee ice cream and Mexican Chocolate sauce!Photo byR.Gerner/Canva

Add coffee ice cream (from the store, much easier), and a luscious Mexican chocolate sauce. To make the sauce, microwave 2 squares of unsweetened cocoa , to 1/3 cup of very strong coffee. Microwave for about 45 seconds. Give it a stir, add 1/2 cup of regular sugar. Finish microwaving the mixture, not too long, just enough to blend the sugar. Add 3 tablespoons of real butter and about 2 good shakes of cinnamon ( 1 teaspoon). Oh, don't forget to add 1/4 teaspoon of real vanilla. Microwave for maybe 3 minutes, but stir every minute. Just until the butter has completely melted and all is well blended. Serve warm over your coffee angel food cake and ice cream. Your guests will be impressed.

You can store any leftover sauce in your refrig and you can freeze the leftover coffee angel food cake! Freezing it is a great way to preserve the cake for future use, and it maintains its airy texture and flavor if done correctly. Before freezing, make sure the cake has cooled entirely. This is very important. Wrap the whole cake or individual slices tightly in plastic wrap to prevent freezer burn. For added protection, wrap it again in aluminum foil or place it in a freezer-safe plastic bag.

Label the date and store for up to 5 months. When ready to use, just thaw on the counter, still wrapped, or if in a hurry, unwrap it and leave in refrig to thaw. Freezing angel food cake is a great way to save while maintaining its fluffy texture and flavor! This is a sinful winner! Enjoy
