This Major Logistics Company in NY Is Shutting Down – and 41 Workers Will Be Laid Off

According to a new report by WIBX 950, a major logistics company in Upstate NY is shutting down - and 41 workers will be laid off. According to the report, GXO Warehouse Co. announced that it will shut down its facility in Avon.

The company stated that the closure is due to its contract expiration. The facility employs 41 people and the layoffs will begin on December 31 and continue through January 14, 2025.

The company recently shut down a location in Rochester roughly a year ago where 35 were employed "due to economic reasons". The company manages and operates warehouses and its customers include Apple, Whirlpool, Verizon, and Nike.
