Jets' abrupt coaching change causes Pat McAfee to wait extra day for Aaron Rodgers

New York Jets ' quarterback Aaron Rodgers was scheduled to make his weekly Tuesday afternoon appearance on the Pat McAfee Show , but that was when Robert Saleh was still the team's head coach.

Team owner Woody Johnson unexpectedly dropped a bomb of sorts at 1 Jets Drive on Tuesday morning by firing Saleh and promoting defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich to the head coach's seat.

Johnson's haymaker instantly created two-million dollar questions. Did he act alone or did Rodgers have any input? What does Rodgers think about it all?

Unfortunately, we'll have to wait for the decorated field general's thoughts since his McAfee appearance has been postponed. It's unclear whether Rodgers voluntarily decided to forego Tuesday's interview or if the Jets asked him to lay low amidst the media firestorm.

McAfee, the former NFL punter-turned-media personality, updated his audience that Rodgers is now slated to appear on Wednesday, October 9 at 12:10 pm ET.

"A lot of people are gonna say that Aaron Rodgers was the one who got him fired. Aaron Rodgers did a power play here. A lot of people have been trying to drive a wedge between Aaron Rodgers and Robert Saleh, literally since the day that Aaron Rodgers went to the New York Jets," said McAfee. "I'll be excited to hear his take tomorrow. 12:10 pm Eastern, Aaron Rodgers will be joining us to chit chat about everything happening with the New York Jets."

On last Tuesday's show, Rodgers seemingly gave Saleh a nod of approval .

"Rob and I have a great relationship. We have since Day 1 when I got here. We have text message conversations, threads that we're in, conversations about a number of topics outside of football. We got a good friendship," said Rodgers.

It'll be interesting to hear Rodgers provide an update on that friendship Wednesday.
