A person of interest is being interviewed following a high school lockout in Westchester prompted by a social media threat against a student, police said.

The incident happened at Port Chester High School on Tuesday, Oct. 8 after staff received information about an online social media threat against a student, according to Port Chester Police.

A lockout was initiated out of precaution as police investigated the threat. It has since been lifted, the department said.

A person of interest was later identified and is now being interviewed, police added. Their name was not released.
