When I was a kid we would often play ball on the courts under the stadium! They started locking the doors to keep us out but the students weren't cooperative! We stood outside the entrance and asked a student" Sir, could you show us the way to the basketball courts?" He said" You call me sir, I'll take you there"! We played with many a legendary Buckeye between there, 11th Ave. & Lane Ave. courts! Cleamons was tough, Sorenson's hook shot was unstoppable and Luke Witte was the biggest sissy I ever played against! 16" taller than me and he called a foul every time I put a hip into him! Those were the days!!!

I was so disappointed in 1971 when my application to the stadium dorm was declined (following my cousins lead) because it was for males only!
