LeBron James' Former Teammate Makes Opinion of Bronny James Extremely Clear

The Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny James 55th overall in the 2024 NBA draft. Re-signing LeBron James shortly after, the Lakers created the first father-son duo in NBA history.

LeBron and Bronny shared the floor for the first time on Sunday in a preseason game against the Phoenix Suns. This was the second preseason appearance for Bronny who played six NBA Summer League games.

Through two preseason contests, Bronny has totaled 29.5 minutes played. The former USC guard has two points, three rebounds, one assist and five turnovers. Continuing his poor shooting from Summer League, Bronny has converted on just one of his seven field goal attempts.

During an interview with ClutchPoints' DJ Siddiqi , former NBA guard Iman Shumpert was asked about Bronny.

"He knows how to make the right play, he knows when to be aggressive,” Shumpert said of the Lakers rookie. “He has the athletic gene that is just there. He don't even know why he can do half the stuff he can do, but we all do."

Continuing, Shumpert predicted Bronny will have a faster learning curve than other young players.

"I think as he gets his rhythm, as he gets himself in those positions to make those decisions over and over again, we're about to watch his learning curve be faster than any other guys," Shumpert added.

Shumpert played with LeBron on the Cleveland Cavaliers, winning a championship alongside him in 2016.

The Lakers have four preseason games remaining before they open their regular season against the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 22. It has yet to be announced whether Bronny will begin in the NBA or G League.
