    United Way of East Central Alabama Receives Energy Efficiency Grant from Alabama Power Foundation and Alabama Business Charitable Trust Fund

    Anniston, AL – On Monday, October 3, 2024, the United Way of East Central Alabama (UWECA) hosted a check presentation ceremony with the Alabama Power Foundation and the Alabama Business Charitable Trust Fund. The event took place at UWECA’s Board Room, located at 1505 Wilmer Avenue in Anniston, AL.

    UWECA was awarded an Energy Efficient Forward Grant, which will allow for energy-efficient upgrades to the organization’s Success Academy building. These improvements aim to enhance the building’s sustainability, reduce operational costs, and contribute to environmental conservation efforts.

    The grant was made possible through the support of the Alabama Power Foundation and the Alabama Business Charitable Trust Fund, both of which have a long-standing commitment to helping communities improve energy efficiency and promote sustainable practices.

    The event highlighted the collaboration between UWECA and its partners in improving facilities and services that benefit the local community. UWECA Executive Director and representatives from Alabama Power and the Trust Fund expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the Success Academy and the families it serves.
