Desperation mostly ends with aggravation especially with a position as delicate as law enforcement.To think the mayor has to fill the ranks using incentives that has to be extra sweet but still don't guarantee you will receive QUALITY individuals with good integrity.The problem with the police dept.and the City in general is poor leadership they mainly put people in position that is click popular or relatives of a person with high rank I know this first hand.The City of Birmingham will continue to decline because the leadership is not for the citizens they are for the position that line the TOP from the BPD to Public works.

Since the last mass shooting I've consistently pointed out in the comments that Birmingham is 300 police officers short of a possible 1200. I'm glad mayor Whitman is now doing something to address that. those making excuses for the mayor and just saying nothing can be done are just idiots.
