Fox play-by-play broadcaster Adam Amin hasn’t exactly been all that popular amongst fans of the New York Mets or the Philadelphia Phillies thus far in the NLDS. And while that didn’t exactly change in Tuesday’s Game 3 matchup, a number of media members came to his defense regarding his on-air performance.

Both Mets and Phillies fans have been quite critical of Amin throughout the series thus far, accusing him of being biased against their respective team.

Amin has made it a point to address these criticisms on several platforms, both taking to social media and to the Foul Territory podcast alongside his broadcast booth partner A.J. Pierzynski to adamantly state that he has attempted to analyze the games down the middle.

The fact that both sides feel like he is being biased against their side likely means that he is calling things down the middle and upsetting both sides by highlighting the other at times, which Pierzynski has alluded to .

In Tuesday’s matchup, Amin had some real highlights, which included a funny reference to the hit sitcom Seinfeld while the camera showed Jerry Seinfeld in attendance wearing a Mets hat.

His final call of the game of the game, a game-ending strikeout from Mets reliever Ryne Stanek, was also quite good, referencing all the Mets have overcome to get to this point in the postseason.

“Got him! And this amazing run from the miracle Mets shows its most dominant performance of the playoffs so far to take a 2-1 series lead,” said Amin alongside Adam Wainwright and A.J. Pierzynski. “And they are one win away from an improbable trip to the National League Championship Series. (Pete) Alonso and (Jesse) Winker started it off with home runs, the offense got it going. And when they needed big pitches, Sean Manaea made those big pitches. And it all leads to a 7-2 New York win.”

Still, fans largely continued to share their belief on social media that Amin had a rooting interest against their team throughout Tuesday’s Game 3 matchup.

It seems like both fanbases have essentially made their minds up when it comes to Amin. And while Amin may have an uphill battle on his hands to get back in their good graces, many media pundits actually thought that Amin did a very good job, with some even calling him the best broadcaster throughout the postseason thus far in the MLB.

“Man Adam Amin is one of the great young voices in sports,” wrote former NHL broadcaster Ralph Strangis on X. “Multi sport big game called. There are so many of these qualified young people with fresh perspectives equipped to handle what’s coming. Those who hire them and move forward and not hire recycled callers are way ahead.”

Out of all the play-by-play guys who have called postseason baseball this year on ESPN, Fox, and TBS, the best listen is Adam Amin,” wrote Jimmy Traina of the SI Media Podcast on X .

“Really have enjoyed Adam Amin, Adam Wainwright, and A.J. Pierzyski on Fox called Phillies/Mets all series,” wrote Adam Schein of CBS Sports on X. “Great baseball conversation. Great stuff.”
