RHEA COUNTY — Both the Rhea County Commission and the Rhea County School Board elected leadership for the 2024-25 legislative year at their previous monthly meetings in September.

Per state law, both the Rhea County Commission and the Rhea County School Board must elect leadership each year.

Rhea County Commission Chair Jim Reed was re-elected as chair in the commission’s September monthly meeting, and Rhea County Commission Philip Dunn was elected as vice chair.

The Rhea County Commission held a workshop session on Tuesday, Oct. 8, but the results of that workshop session were unavailable as of press time Tuesday.

The Rhea County School Board also elected leadership at its monthly September meeting. Rhea County School Board Member John Mincy was elected as chair, and Rhea County School Board Member Janie Graham was elected vice chair.

The Rhea County School Board will meet next on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m. at the Levengood Education Center.

All meetings are open to the public.
