    Woman killed when hit by motorcycle

    LANCASTER — An 82-year-old Crooksville woman was killed on Monday when she was struck by a motorcycle, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

    At approximately 5:01 p.m., the Lancaster Post of the Highway Patrol responded to a report of a motorcycle that had struck a pedestrian on state Route 93 near Milepost 21, in Harrison Township in Perry County.

    A 2008 Suzuki motorcycle, operated by Dakota P. Eyman, 21, of Corning, was traveling southbound on state Route 93 when Eyman struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway. The pedestrian was identified as Ella J. Ebert, 82, of Crooksville.

    Eyman was transported to Genesis in Zanesville for minor injuries as a result of the crash. Ebert was transported to Grant Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.

    The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, Roseville Fire Department, Crooksville Fire Department, Medflight, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.

    The crash remains under investigation.
