The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing to take on the Las Vegas Raiders in what is already a must-win game for Pittsburgh following a two game skid.

There are plenty of questions surrounding the QB position and WR George Pickens , but the team has to lock in and deal with the task at hand.

In order to get a better idea on how the team will handle the road challenge, I reached out to A to Z Sports Las Vegas Raiders beat writer Justin Churchill . Enjoy.

    Q. The Raiders are only 5 weeks into the season and are already having reservations about QB Gardner Minshew. Do you think Aidan O’Connell gives the team the best chance to win? Or is this simply an offensive move to give the team a spark?

    A. Well both quarterbacks are set to battle in practice for the job against the Steelers, but to me, O’Connell gives you the best chance to win purely because of the accuracy and he turns the ball over far less. A lot of momentum swings this year were results of turnovers by Minshew, and frankly, that’s how they lost to Denver. I think they may run with AOC this week, unless something happens on practice, and they do get a bit of a spark, but not enough to win.

    Q. How much of a black cloud, if any has the Davante Adams situation been in the locker room, in your opinion? And while he won’t play against Pittsburgh, do you think there’s any chance he stays in Vegas given the reported asking price in trade talks? We know Pittsburgh is involved in trade talks with Vegas.

    A. I think Adams is gone regardless. The Raiders are going to have to budge. It’s obvious neither side is happy anymore, and it’s best for everyone involved if they just move on. I think keeping him will only make things harder on them as the season goes. As far as the locker room, players say it’s business as usual, but you can certainly tell the mindset if this team is a bit different. Bet, hey, luckily they hired a head coach who flipped the mentality around last year. Wonder who will do it now.

    Q. What are your early returns on HC Antonio Pierce? He’s been a bit of a polarizing figure between some of his late game decision making and answers to the media.

    A. I love AP, as does every media member. He respects you if you respect him. He’s a great dude and he truly does embody what it means to be a Raider. But, if he wants to stick around long enough despite having a bad first season, he’s going to have to start taking accountability, and that’s not something he’s done a lot of if any.
