Bronny James, by no means, had a good game against the Suns. He put up 0 points, 2 rebounds, 0 assists, 0 steals, and 0 blocks while having 4 turnovers and 3 fouls, including one which cost the Lakers the game against the Suns. Bronny's mistakes didn't go unnoticed, with NBA fans ruthlessly mocking him for it .
But Bronny is a late second-round pick, who quite clearly is not ready for the NBA. He didn't play starter minutes for the Lakers, nor is he expected to feature in the team's plans outside of the opening game. So for him to be so ruthless toward a young man who is still struggling to adapt to a new league is quite cruel and unnecessary.
Furthermore, some fans will point to Kwame Brown's own shortcomings as a basketball player. Brown is considered by many to be one of the most underwhelming first-overall picks in the history of the NBA, despite getting the chance to play with icons like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant in his career.
For his career, Kwame Brown averaged 6.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.6 blocks, and 0.5 steals per game. These are some of the lowest averages by first overall pick in the history of the NBA.
As for Bronny James, of course, he had a poor game. But he is so young in his career, and is still developing as an athlete, and has plenty of time to turn things around. He should focus on the critiques his coaches give him, and try his best to shut out the negative attention NBA personalities across the world are giving him.
Kwame Brown Continues To Disrespect James' Family
Kwame Brown going after Bronny James is nothing new. He recently gave Bronny James a reality check about what his prospects in the NBA are likely to be, especially considering the current limitations to his game. But he has gone above and beyond to insult not just the son, but the father as well.
Again, Brown has a history of taking shots at James, as recently as last week, when he claimed that players in the previous era would not struggle to play against the current version of LeBron James. So Brown choosing to combine his shots at the James family into one soliloquy is efficient disrespect if nothing else.
James actually clapped back at Brown quite recently , mocking him and any other NBA personality who claims that he isn't a skilled player.
It remains to be seen whether James will respond to Brown's latest tirade against both him and his son, but if he were to, that would be completely justified, considering what Kwame Brown has been saying about them.
