    Lewis tallies 20 assists

    COMO, Texas — The No. 15 North Hopkins Lady Panthers won their third straight game Friday by sweeping their Hopkins County rival, the Como-Pickton Lady Eagles, on the road. Though the Lady Eagles showed signs of extending the game, the Lady Panthers put a stop to it, improving to 2-0 in district.

    The first set was dominated by the Lady Panthers, as the Lady Eagles struggled in the beginning. The Lady Panthers cruised their way to a 25-11 win in the opening set, taking the lead.

    The second set was a high-scoring affair, with the Lady Eagles getting off to a strong start. In the end, the Lady Panthers came back and won the set 25-23, extending their lead to 2-0.

    The third set was also high-scoring, as the Lady Panthers fought to put the game away, while the Lady Eagles tried to keep the game going. Ultimately, the Lady Panthers edged out a 25-21 win, ending the game and capping off a road sweep.

    Hadlee Hrabal recorded a 16-dig, 10-kill double- double, adding five aces, three assists and one block. Eden Lewis led in assists with 20, adding four digs, two kills and one ace.

    Daylee Fite was a strong defensive presence with 14 digs. Macey Hoelscher led in kills with 12, to go along with nine digs, two aces and one assist, coming one dig shy of a double-double.

    Jacie Boles recorded six kills, four digs and one block. Stevanna Buchanan tallied five assists and one dig.

    Kaidence Godbolt came up with five digs. Lucy Conner recorded three digs, two assists, one block and one kill.

    Other contributors to the win include Cadence Money, two blocks, one dig and one kill; Leah Hatley, two digs; and Fern Hernandez, one assist and one dig.

    With the win, the Lady Panthers improved to 2-0 in district and 27-8 overall. They resumed action Tuesday, welcoming the Fruitvale Lady Bobcats to W.S. Long Gymnasium.
