Gemini-powered Fitbit Labs offers detailed health insights

Fitbit has announced a new program called Fitbit Labs , allowing you to test experimental features and provide feedback on your experiences. If you’re eligible, you will see the option on the app’s You page to join immediately or sign up for a waitlist if the lab is not currently open.

Fitbit Labs’ initial project is an insights explorer that uses Google’s Gemini AI models to provide you with personalized responses to health and wellness inquiries. By analyzing Fitbit data, the AI should intelligibly provide insights into the relationships between various indicators, such as charts and graphs.

These algorithms evaluate Fitbit data, including sleep patterns, exercise levels, and heart rate, to provide personalized insights.

The insights presented may help you understand the relationships between various health variables, providing you with more actionable information to manage your health.

Fitbit has stated that more features will be evaluated through Fitbit Labs in the future, with an emphasis on incorporating Google’s most recent AI advances into the Fitbit experience.

However, these Fitbit Labs features will be only available for a short time and may require a Fitbit Premium subscription if you want to try them out.

This update comes after a year of dramatic changes for Fitbit, which included closing its independent website and discontinuing its smartwatch lines . It will be interesting to see what else Fitbit will offer its users in the future as a part of the Fitbit Labs features.
